Giving a 1990 Marlin Escort Cruiser a new personality.
Hubby purchased this boat at the end
of the season in 2016. He was told it
was in good running order, so after
checking it out, he and his buddy
brought her down to the Connecticut
River and started heading to Long
Island Sound.

They got about a quarter mile down
the river when she choked and died.
She just wouldn't keep running. They
ended up rowing her back up the river
to the launch area. Fortunately a good
samaritan pulled alongside and offered
to tow them.

We acquired a new winter project.
The entire inside and deck was gutted
and we started from scratch
refurbishing her.

It's a year later and the season is
coming to an end soon. With any luck,
we'll get it back together so that she
can go on at least one run before it's
time to put her in storage for the winter.

These are comparison pictures of
where she stands today... 8/22/17.

The captain's chair is done and  ready
for installation. The exterior cushions
are sitting by my sewing machine
waiting for upholstering. With any luck,
she may hit the water after Labor Day.

Keep checking back for updates!
Special thanks to
Greg Mantz, Owner of
Ace Marine Services
of Torrington, CT and
his right hand man Pat
for their help and
guidance.

They took care of the
mechanics while we
worked on the
renovation.

Kudos to the office
staff and yard crew who
went above and beyond.
Not quite the end... More to come!
